Attached are the results of the HISD Swimming District Championships.

Here you will find your athletes scores per event and the total grade level team scores.

We won the 8th Grade Girls Division 

We would have won the 7th Grade Boy's too.  Unfortunately one of our swimmers was injured during warmups and couldn't compete.  This scratched us from both relays.  If we had come in last place in these we still would have gained 24 points.  Furthermore, our swimmer was really fast and would have probably earned another 12 points or so.  We ended up in second place by 19 points and barring the injury would have had 36 points, unfortunate.  Hoping for a speedy recovery for him.  We lost another Boy to a broken arm that he suffered the two days before playing soccer.  What can you say, 2021!

So proud of our team.  2021 has been crazy.  We have had the season suspended twice, the championships postponed twice, our pool closed for over a month, virtual athletes due to Covid who had from 1 - 3 practices before the championships, difficulties scheduling swimmers for swimming PE.  And much, much more.  But through all of this I am proud to say that our Water Pandas made me crazy proud!  They were easily the loudest, most engaged in the meets, had the greatest team spirit, tried the hardest, and were undoubtedly the best athletes in the district. 

I can't wait to see what next year brings when we start swimming the first week of school and swim 2.5 days a week up til the championships.  Look out HISD we are going to bring it!
