Swim Parents,

Out 1/11 - I will be at jury duty tomorrow.  There will not be swim practice or swim class.  Students will go to the small gym.  They need shorts and shirts so they can change out of their school clothes.  They don't need school PE uniforms if they don't have them.  They may bring solid shorts and shirts.

Heat Sheets - I have to wait on these for the other coaches to submit theirs.  I should have them by to tomorrow night. When I get heat sheets I will post to the meet on the waterpandas site.  

Events/Strokes - You should be able to see this at the www.waterpandas.swimtopia.com web site.  

Directions for Lamar HS -  This Wednesday, Jan 12th we will have a meet at Lamar HS vs Lanier, Black, and a small private school.  Here is what you need to know.

The school address is 3325 Westheimer Rd. The garage will be open, so parents can enter the garage from Eastside and park on the second floor. The door into the building will be open on the second floor. You can take a left in the lobby and then another left to walk through the bleachers in the gym that connect to the bleachers above the natatorium--that's where our spectators sit.  

Athletes should go down to the ground floor and turn right from the stairs.  The locker room is small so it would be best if they can be in their swim suits with sweats on top for a quick change.

Athletes must be there by 5:00, Warm-up 5:30, Meet Start 6:00.  Be prepared to pick up at 7:30.  

Absences - Swimmers must notify me by Monday before the meet if they will not be there.  It really impacts the meet and their team mates when they let me know late or don't bother letting me know at all.  That said, I understand life happens.  If you can't let me know in advance, let me know as soon as possible.

Team Photos - We will be having team photos after school on Thursday, Jan 13th after school from 4:00 - 5:00.  There will be no charge for the photos.  You will receive one team and two individual images.  Students must bring their, solid black swim suit, and This year's team hoodie.  If you have one from last year bring it too.  Someone might need it.

Next Meet - Our next meet is Jan 26th vs Lanier and Hogg.  This will be our final meet before the championships.

Championships - The HISD District Championships are Tuesday, Feb 8th at Lamar.

Friday Team Fun - This Friday all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade swimmers are welcome to come to the gym to hang out and play games during Home Room.  I have emailed teachers and will provide students with a pass.  Students will go to the cafeteria during their lunch and the large gym during Home Room class.  Students have to check in with their Home Room teacher before coming to the gym.
