Swim Parents,

I have announced through several emails since the beginning of the year and spoken with the kids numerous times about the issue of participating in the district championships.

The rules of the championship state that only four swimmers from each team may participate per event in the championships.  7th grade only has five events.  50 FS, 50 BK, 50 BR, 50 FLY, and 100 FS.  This limits large teams like ours.  I have put fourth a motion to change this.  I am requesting that we increase the events next year to include 7th 100 IM and 200 FS.  They swim these in 8th grade and I'm confident that we have athletes that can swim these in 7th grade.  This would allow more swimmers to compete in the championships next year.  

I will be submitting my team for the championships this Friday.  

Students on academic probation - We have a few students that were on academic probation for the last meet.  They will remain on probation for the championships as progress reports will not be out before the championships.
