Good morning. :)

Crazy meet last night.  My apologies on behalf of HISD for the delays in the meet.  That was way to late for kids to be kept out on a school night.  I messaged all Pershing teachers this morning advising them of the meet running til nearly 11:00 PM last night and asked them to allow swimmers to have extra time on assignments and to understand if they are sleepy in class.  I know I am.

There was, in my opinion an excessive amount of disqualifications issued at the meet to all teams.  I registered a complaint at the meet on behalf of Pershing and will be following up with Mac McDonald the head of HISD swimming to discuss middle school swimming and officiating moving forward. 

That being said.  I was extremely impressed with our athletes. They were easily the most engaged and spirited team at the event, they were in good spirits for the most part throughout the meet, and quick to support one another.  

We are now finished with our swim season.  We begin water volleyball today.  After water volleyball we will begin water polo.

Reminder: We have our Fun Meet in two weeks, on Wednesday, Feb 23rd.  It will be here at Pershing from 6:00 - 8:00.  Parents are encouraged to attend.
