Swim Parents,

Over the weekend the unthinkable happened.  I walked in to the pool and found that two of the mounts that hold the massive A/C system, up over the pool, had been compromised.  One had actually fallen into the pool.  The other was hanging down, detached and not being helpful.  It appears that the humidity and chemicals have been breaking down the mounts.  Furthermore, the system is supposed to have six mounts to support it.  It now has two doing the job.  Therefore, our pool is out of commission until this situation is corrected.  

As a result, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade athletes need to bring PE gear to school on Swim Class Days.  PE gear is solid appropriate length shorts and a solid t-shirt.  The clothing can be any SOLID color.  Athletes may use Pershing PE uniforms but are not required.

I have no idea how long this will take to repair.  To me this is an urgent situation but we will see how quickly the repairs can be made.
