Swim Parents

We are off and running. I'm very excited about this year. The kids look fantastic and they are working hard in swim class.

Water Bottles: Hydration is important. Please, remind your athlete to bring a water bottle and leave it at the end of the lane to get a drink between sets.

Glass: Please, ensure that your child doesn't bring glass of any kind into the pool area. We had an accident today where a glass water bottle broke and one of our athletes was cut. I spent a while cleaning it up and then asked the custodian to double check my work. It's hard to find glass fragments in the best situations but water makes it nearly impossible. I believe that the glass was limited to the deck and was removed.

2nd Swim Social: The second swim social will be held October 26th from 4:00 - 6:00. It will take place on the softball field unless the weather drives us indoors. Immediately following the social students and families are invited to attend the Pershing Homecoming Football Game. We will make signs for the game at the social after school. We will also have face paint available. As always this is not a required event.

Homecoming Football Game: The Pershing 8th Grade Football Team will take on our hated rivals the pineoak football team. The game will be held at Butler Stadium. Kick-off is at 7:00 PM. Parents are encouraged to bring the whole family. Please wear RED to support the team.  Please, read HISD football game rules and regs here.
