Swim Parents,

Happy last week before the winter break.  

Are you ready for some SWIMMING!!!!  Season starts Jan when we return for 7th and 8th graders.

Winter Class Parties - This Wednesday or Thursday we are having class parties for 6th, 7th, & 8th grades.  I will not be supplying anything but the kids are free to bring snacks and/or drinks.  We will have an open pool.  Play sharks and minnows, water tag, water volleyball, water nuke 'em and have open swim.  We want to get the break started with a fun start.

Monday Jan 8th - No school

Tuesday Jan 9th - (7th and 8th graders) in 6th and 8th period who don't swim year round are required to attend practice after school from 4:00 - 5:30.

Wednesday Jan 10th - (7th and 8th graders) Swim Meet vs Pin Oak at Lamar HS

Transportation is not provided - If your athlete needs a ride have them ask a friend.  If you can't find a ride or can bring another athlete please email me.

5:00 - All athletes should be there.

5:30 - Athletes are changed and begin warm-ups

6:00 - Meet starts

8:00 - Meet is expected to be over  (please, don't be later that 8:00 to pick up your athlete.

Uniform - Solid black team suit, goggles, Pershing swim cap, towel, water bottle

I will have extra new swim caps.  If you don't have yours bring $10 for a replacement swim cap.

Back Packs - If possible please leave these in the car.  Stuff gets left, wet, or comes up missing each meet.  Also, we have very limited seating and a big team.

Heat Sheets - I will be posting Heat Sheets to the meet as a file.  Just get on to www.waterpandas.swimtopia.com and look at the meet.  It will be in the bottom right of the website.  Once the meet is over you will be able to find the results here too!

Action Item - If you haven't yet, please, show your athlete how to get on the website if you forgot your password you can get a new one on the site.  (Ask if you are having trouble)  If your athlete has a cell phone, please, log onto it on their phone and save your password so they have access.  They will be able to see their times, events for meets, upcoming meets and events, past emails, and more.

Dates - Please, add the following dates to your calendar to avoid missing any.  Meets are mandatory for 7th and 8th graders.

Practice - (7th and 8th grades) Every Monday and Tuesday in Jan and until the Championships Feb 17. From 4:00 - 5:30 (I will have swimmers sign in and swimmers not attending one practice each week without a parent email will be assigned 45 min of lap swimming on Friday.)

6th Graders - Please, consider attending one or more of these meets to cheers on your team.

Feb 28 - Fun Meet @ Pershing (6th, 7th, & 8th Grades)
