Swim Parents,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. Hold on tight I have a lot of information.
Machu Pichu – I had a great summer. Was able to check a box. Unfortunately, on the last day of the hike I tore my Meniscus and LCL. As a result, I’ll be having a procedure on Thursday, Aug 15th that will put me out at least that Thursday and Friday. I tried to get it done before school but couldn’t get it in time. Kids will go to the Main Gym and participate with the PE kids on any days that I am out.
Lockers – The lockers came in over the summer and look great. I would like to see if some parents have some time over the weekend to help me assemble them and secure them to the wall adjacent to the pool. You don’t have to have construction experience. If you have put together something from Ikea you will be fine. I will get to school by 10:00 am this Saturday, Aug 10th.
A/C – We have a new A/C unit in the natatorium. It is working great!
Physicals – All students need to have a current physical on the current HISD form dated no earlier than May 15th, by the first day of school. If you need assistance, please contact me. [email protected]
Register My Athlete – All 7th & 8th grade swimmers need to have all paperwork submitted to registermyathlete.com before the first day of school. If you need assistance, please contact me.
HISD Athletic Insurance – If you select to carry HISD insurance it is now available through www.schoolpay.com the cost is $35 for the school year and covers all sports your child would play for the school. If you do pay make sure to email me a copy or screenshot of the receipt.
Schedules – Please, check your schedules. I have noticed some swim kids not in swim class. And have heard about kids having to choose between electives and swim. Please, call the school and request 5th/10th period for swim team and 4th/9th period for 6th grade and overflow kids. I strongly recommend staying in swim class. If we lose kids they will take swim classes from me and our program will begin to dwindle. I strongly believe that we can threepeat as HISD Swim Champs.
